Plan the site

Step one in making this website was to make a plan. First I drew out a mind map. My plan for what this website began with me deleting things not needed for the site from my mind map such as jewellry making and beading and writing a short list of things I wanted/ needed on the site ie. about/ a gallery /research and a home page. As I was making the plan for the site, I was thinking of reasons for others to visit the site and decided I would make this site interesting for others with my plan to create a tutorial blog.

After finishing the list that I wanted/needed on my site (KISS- keep it simple stupid). Keeping it simple is best. My first plan had three pages then more coming off it - not a good plan but it was a starting point. Moving on from that, I had to pick a website building site (a free one as I’m a poor university student)I had to pick one that would work best with my plan. I looked at both portfoliobox and squarespace the layouts were fine but not what I needed. After finishing the research I decided to use WIX as you can see it worked out well for me.

I also created new Tumblr,Twitter and Facebook pages specifically to be linked to this new website.
